When you got it...you got it. And accessory designer and Malibu local, CC Skye has what it takes to be known as “Hollywood’s HOTTEST Designer”. As a fashion addict, I look at CC’s collections and want to have one of everything. As friend I am so proud to see such a hard worker and dedicated entrepreneur do so well in such a tough industry.

CC has always had an eye for predicting trends and knowing what the next big thing is. It took her a little time to create and launch her own line, but after being a successful producer for MTV Networks she finally took the right steps to get on her right path to create the label she always wanted to showcase to the world. 800 stores later you could say this girl made the right choice.

CC SKYE embraces true “IT” Girl style with gleaming gold hardware and a fashion forward sensibility that has made her moniker line virtual wardrobe staples for super stylists and today’s brightest stars. Nominated for Best New Accessory Designer by GEN ART, CC SKYE marries unpredictability and wearability in her eponymous collections. CC SKYE consistently creates the season’s must haves that perfectly fuse uptown elegance with downtown edge.

Recently SNOB Style had the opportunity to catch up with this high-demand designer to learn all about her...

CC Skye Designer Q&A

1. When did your obsession with accessories start?
I grew up in the height of the 80’s when the trend was all about Madonna and her “desperately Seeking Susan” bad girl persona with a ton of accessories. I wasn’t even in high school yet and I literally had rubber bracelets up to my elbow and wore hundreds of them at a time. The 80’s were the height of glitz. One of my nicknames growing up was “Jewels” because I wore so much jewelry.

2. What is the vision for your line?
The vision for my line is edgy but elegant, fashion forward, cutting edge and ultimately wearable.

3. Who is the CC Skye shopper?
We have some aspirational young consumers around 16 and then we go up to the women who are very chic at 60 years old. My customer is luxury oriented, they’re not afraid to be noticed and they’re drawn to fashion and accessories that evoke an emotional response in them.

4. What is your favorite style you ever designed?
I love the Stud Hinge Bracelet, it’s a classic, as well as the Pave Stud Bracelet, and wearing them with a black Kenzie lock bracelet or black Screw Bracelet is a signature of mine.

5. What is the big seller of the moment, and why do you think stores can’t keep it in stock?

Screw bracelets have taken over; they are so hot right now. So many girls are loving stackable wearable bracelets and it’s the perfect answer to that trend. Rhianna has worn them, Miley Cyrus, Nikki Hilton, Fergie, Katy Perry to name a few.

6. Fashionistas & Celebrities are HUGE fans of your line....who did you get really excited about when you saw them with CC Skye?
I was most excited about Sienna Miller, I think she’s gorgeous and her style is perfect.

7. If you could be a handbag, what style would you be?
I would be a clutch..elegant but simple, often embellished and very luxe.

8. Where is your favorite place to shop in LA?
I live in Malibu so my favorite is stomping grounds are Planet Blue and Intermix. They are my two all time fave stores so I am very lucky to not have to drive into the city to shop.

9. How or what is your biggest inspiration to create your different collections?
Music is a big inspiration for me when designing. On occasions a beat or chords have inspired certain silhouettes. I find friends and others to be an inspiration; I like picking up on someone’s personal style. Also my mom was a big fashionista in the 70’s and 80’s so I can always look back and remember the amazing vintage pieces she had which definitely inspires the line today.

10. If you hosted a dinner party and could invite 4 people (dead or alive), whom would you invite?
I would invite Madonna, Blondie, Coco Chanel and the Buddha, Gautama Siddhartha.

11. What is your favorite movie quote?
“What we do in life echoes in eternity.” –Gladiator

12. What can you NOT live without?
Passion.

14. Do you have any hidden talents?
I am psychic.

15. If a genie could wish you 1 wish, what would it be?
I would wish that everyone I had ever loved at one time would live in Malibu because everyone in my life is so spread out around the world right now. It would be a wish come true to all live in the same town!

16. Who is your favorite fashion designer?
Always Coco Chanel … and Balmain are amazing right now.

17. What is your favorite Reality Show that you CAN’T miss?
Rock of Love.

18. Where is one place that you would like to travel to in your lifetime?
Every year I go to Thailand or Bali when stopping through Hong Kong for work, I always want to travel there first and foremost. But I would love to do the Maldives and Sri Lanka as well as Papua New Guinea.

19. What is your favorite lipstick and color?
Clear gloss.

20. What is your favorite trend of the moment?
I love the oversized t-shirt cuts and the new shoulder pad, which is more feminine, and flattering then the ones we wore in the 80’s. Also skinny jeans, leg warmers, big sunglasses, the motorcycle chic look and fake fur.

21. What is your least favorite trend of all time?
Stone washed jeans.

22. What is your favorite food?
Anything sashimi.

23. What song is in your head?
Right now it’s Sleepy Head by Passion Pit and Girlfriend by Phoenix.

24. What goal have you set for yourself that you would like to achieve?
I have always wanted to create an animal rescue in Malibu where all animals are loved and happy, also transforming the handbag industry away from leather and into excellent quality substitutes so we do not have to kill animals for fashion. Also I would love to have a second home in a foreign country and live there and really become a part of the culture.

25. What is one thing you have always wanted to learn to do?
I have always wanted to learn how to surf. Its still on my to do list!

26. What is next for the CC Skye label?
We are doing a line of shoes that will launch in Spring of 2011. We’re really excited about them.

27. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Happier, more enlightened and more alive with age.
